Les furets ne nécessitent pas de bains fréquents, car cela peut assécher leur peau et augmenter la production d'huiles corporelles, ce qui renforce les odeurs. Un bain tous les 2 à 3 mois, ou seulement lorsque vraiment sale, est généralement suffisant.
